Cecil Humphreys was a Broadway luminary from his debut in 1914 until his death in 1947. Humphreys made occasional excursions to Hollywood - most famously as the Holy Man in the 1946 adaptation of Somerset Maugham's The Razor's Edge. His Grandson was named after him and enjoyed success as an actor both as Cecil Humphreys and later as Chris Humphreys. But it's as novelist C.C.Humphreys that he's made his chidhood dream come true. Taking the character of Jack Absolute, whom he loved playing in Sheridan's The Rivals, he turned the beloved rascal into the hero of a trilogy of historical spy novels. His latest book, Vlad: The Last Confession, has just been published.
